Frédéric W. Patureau was born on the 21st April 1982 in St. Germain en Laye, France. After a Baccalauréat in Saint Germain en Laye, FP studied Biology at the University of Versailles (UVSQ, DEUG, France, 2000-2002), and then Chemistry at the University of Paris-Sud Orsay (Bachelor degree (Licence) in 2003, France). FP performed his Master degree in the group of Prof. H. B. Kagan and Prof. J.-C. Fiaud (mentors: Dr. E. Schulz and Dr. M. Mellah, University of Paris-Sud Orsay, 2005), and PhD degree at the Van't Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences at the University of Amsterdam (UvA, Netherlands, 2009), with the title: sulfonamido-phosphorus ligands (mentor: Prof. J. N. H. Reek). FP was then a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Prof. F. Glorius at the University of Münster (WWU Münster, Germany), with an Alexander von Humboldt fellowship (Rh catalyzed C-H bond activation). FP started his independent research career (2011-2018) as a Juniorprofessor (W1) of Organic Chemistry and Organometallic Catalysis at the Technische Universität Kaiserslautern, Germany. Since October 2018, FP is Professor (W2) of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the RWTH Aachen University.
